This is a reminder for all NEW swimmers to the Mini Rays program. We will be having 2 assessments on Sunday May 20th at Claude Moore Rec Center in Sterling, VA. http://www.loudoun.gov/index.aspx?NID=1259.

The first will be at 12:30 and the second will be at 4:30. If you can email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it on the time you will be attending that would be great. It will give us a heads up on the numbers to expect.

Remember that you child must be able to swim unattended one length of the pool (anyway they can - free, doggie, breast, back or any combo.) They are not allowed to hold on to the rope or wall.

You will find out right away if your child passed the assessment. If they did not pass, we will inform you then when a make-up assessment will be held.

It is time to get your swimmers signed up to have a great summer with the South Riding Stingrays!

To be on the team you must be a member in good standing of the South Riding Proprietary!

There are 3 programs available to our swimmers.

ODSL, CSL and the Mini Rays.

A chart outlining the goals and benefits of each programs is available here.

It is important to register early. It has become necessary to put caps on the total number of swimmers allowed for each program.

Registration fees for Summer of 2012 are as follows:

• Mini Rays: $115
• CSL and ODSL: $135

For CSL and ODSL you will also need a team suit available at Cassel's in Herndon (www.casselsonline.com) - Many of our Mini Rays also enjoy wearing the team suit.

You will also need your own goggles, sunscreen and towel

We are very excited about this year and can't wait to see everybody on deck and racing across the pool!

As we prepare for the season ahead here are some dates that parents should keep in mind. Dates will be firmed up as the season approaches.

To swim for any program for the South Riding Swim Team you must be a member of good standing of the South Riding Proprietary (You must have a valid South Riding pool pass).

• April 9th - Online registration begins.
• May 20th @ 12:30pm or 4:30pm at Claude Moore Rec Center - New Minirays Assessment (For swimmers new to our Minis program) New Minis need to attend one of the times.
• May 29th - CSL/ODSL practices begin
• June 9th - CSL/ODSL Time Trial - Whole team BBQ
• June 11th - Morning practices begin (Minis practices begin)
• June 16th - ODSL First meet
• June 23rd - CSL First "A-Meet"
• June 25th - Minis First Meet
